Bingo Card Printables to Share

Hi friends!  Recently I wanted to create a few files that I could print at home for scrappy purposes.  I know I'm way too cheap to pay full price for some of this stuff... 

So I turned to the Googleator and found the following post from 2008 at The Frugal Crafter: http://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com/2008/09/21/free-bingo-cards-for-you/

I took the files available there and did some editing with MS Paint and Picasa to modify colors.  

1. I thought blue, red, and green were really effective vintage-y colors, and they all show up a little different on different types of paper.
2. The first version has no header - you can add your own words (BINGO; SPRING; HAPPY; SMILE; the abbreviation for a Month; etc.)  The second one has no numbers in it.  This is pretty much exactly from the source site above.  Next I made a version with a Red Star.  Finally, a version with title and numbers, but in 4 colors.
3. You can print these on any color cardstock, but use Cream/Beige for a true vintage look; use White if you want to do completely custom inking; use Kraft for a rustic/grunge-y look.  Try them out and see what you get.
4. Inkjet printer ink will bleed when wet.  If you plan to do some inking, try to find a photocopier or laserjet printer.
5. When printing, tell your printer software to print these like 3x5 photos without cropping.  You should be able to fit 4 per page.

Celebrity Sightings in Minnesota!

OK this is a little dated, but I finally got around to unloading pictures from my camear - Tim Holtz visited the area back in SEPTEMBER but hey - fun behind-the-scenes pics are always worth it!  I had the opportunity to watch his full-length class from the 2nd floor balcony, then got to sit in during an unscheduled product-demo time -- and I have to say, this man knows his stuff!  Such a creative guru!  I learned quite a few interesting little tid-bits and hope to have the chance to see him again some time!

Satin Flowers

Hello world! A friend of mine passed this article along with some really neat instructions for satin ribbon "grungy" flowers - I have it on good authority that while they look complicated, they are super easy to make! I love how the texture really stands out - and I imagine each flower will be unique...

The same friend mentioned that she's used it for wedding hair clips and decorations just as much as paper crafting.

A part of me wonders if I could run thick satin ribbon through a die-cut in the big shot to get the slightly scalloped edge... I'm going to have to test this theory!

Faber Castell DMC

The company that is historically known for their "serious" art supplies (because let's face it, we are a little crazy over here in papercrafting) released last winter a new line of DMC (Design|Memory|Create) products including new sprays, colors, watercolor pencils, "gelatos" (very interesting!), etc. While wandering through blogland I found their projects blog and have been just blown away by what people are making with this new line. It's getting busy around here as I begin to prepare to move in June, but I still think I can make some room for a few quick purchases, especially when Marco's Paper is holding their annual Virtual Convention with Faber Castell DMC at 20% off :)
